One of our goals at Companions Animal Hospital is to promote the importance of healthcare for our senior pets.  Highlighted here are just a few examples of the many treatments and products that are available to help care for our pets as they age.

Pet Massage-Pet massage is compatible with every known form of holistic and traditional animal care.  It helps every system of the pet to function better.  Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue of the body through stroking, rubbing, kneading or tapping, in order to increase circulation and increase range of motion and relax the patient.  Pet massage, like with humans, will help ease aching muscles, improve overall wellness and balance.  A professional massage by trained personnel is heads and tails above a general "massage" by an owner.

Foam pads-For your senior pet's comfort, we offer orthopedic foam pads to cushion their aging bodies while they rest during their boarding stay with us.

Rectal exams-preventative medicine is always best.  Tumors of the anal glands are common in older pets and cannot be seen only a rectal exam can find tumors before they are big problems. If caught early, removal can be a cure!  Please call to schedule your pet's rectal exam.
