Why Choose Us For Your Pet's Vacation Stay

Many people worry about the care of their pet while they are out of town.  We would like to take a moment to give you some information that might help ease your mind.

1.  Before your pet's stay, we encourage you to come and see where your pet(s) will be staying by taking a personal tour of our boarding facilities.  At boarding check in for your pet, you are also welcome to come along back to the boarding area of our clinic and make sure your pet gets comfortably set up in their "home away from home".

2.  We require proof of immunization of all pets staying with us.  All cats must be immunized for rabies and distemper.  All dogs must be immunized for bordetella (kennel cough), rabies, and distemper.  Both cats and dogs must also have a fecal sample checked within the last year to check for intestinal parasites which could be transmitted to other pets.  Healthy, happy pets is our top priority.

3.  Worried that your pet could pick up fleas or ticks while boarding?  That will not happen at Companions!  All pets are required to be current on Frontline Plus (or similar flea and tick product) during their stay.  This protects all the pets and prevents our kennel area from becoming infected.  Brown dog ticks LOVE kennel facilities and can live out their all their life stages inside a kennel if this special preventative measure is not taken. 

4.  We have a fenced in backyard to play in for your pet's safety and fun.

5.  All pets are kept in their own quarters unless you specify at your pet's boarding check in that it is okay for them to play with other pets.

6.  We have a overnight animal caretaker that is here Monday-Friday nights to make sure your pet is comfortable, give them a late night walk and lots of attention.  Animal care staff have easy access to calling our doctor if there is a problem with a pet.

7.  **All dogs receive a FREE BATH if they are with us 2 or more nights**
