Nestle Purina PetCare recalls 3.5- and 7-lb bags of Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity 7+ Dry Cat Food

Nestle Purina PetCare has recalled a limited number of Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity 7+ Dry Cat Food in 3.5 and 7 lb bags due to potential Salmonella contamination. The products were distributed in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin and may have been further distributed to other states.

The following products are affected by the voluntary recall:

  • Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity Dry Cat Food in 3.5 lb bags with "Best By" date of May 2012, production code 03341084 and UPC code 17800 01885
  • Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity Dry Cat Food in 3.5 lb bags with "Best By" date of May 2012, production code 03351084 and UPC code 17800 01885
  • Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity Dry Cat Food in 7 lb bags with "Best By" date of May 2012, production code 03341084 and UPC code 17800 01887
  • Purina ONE Vibrant Maturity Dry Cat Food in 7 lb bags with "Best By" date of May 2012, production code 03351084 and UPC code 17800 01887

Purina has issued a recall for Cat Chow Naturals and Friskies Grillers Blend dry cat food shipped to Colorado, Idaho and Oregon. The recall has been issued due to potential Salmonella contamination. According to the FDA press release, no illnesses have been reported. Consumers who have purchased the recalled products should discard the product and contact Nestle Purina for a refund.
